Reminders for October, November, 2006
Meetings and Events Reminders to Post 304 Legionnaires:
(1) Regular Membership Meeting: GA National Guard Armory, 1901 McCollum Pkwy, Kennesaw. Thursday, October 19, 2006. Get-together at 6:45 p.m., meeting starts at 7:15. Front door will be open for this meeting, so you may park and enter through the front door.
(2) Veteran's Memorial Service - November 4, 2006, at United Methodist Church, 4340 Collins Circle, Acworth, Georgia 30101. Starts at 6:30 p.m. with displays from veteran's groups (including our Post 304) in the assembly hall and service will start at 7:30. This was an especially moving service last year and we hope that you will all take advantage of this occasion to honor your fellow veterans. Chorale groups from a couple of local high schools and an impressive color guard performed at the event. Call David Burdette at (770) 428-0400 if you need directions.
(3) Patriot's Point Veteran's Memorial Dedication - November 11, 2006 at Cauble Park (Patriot's Point) on Lake Acworth in Acworth. Dedication commences at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Most Veteran's Groups in North Cobb and Cartersville will be represented. This should be an impressive ceremony - please try to attend.
(4) District Five GA American Legion meeting - November 12, 2006. Will be at Post 294 in Powder Springs. Commences at 10:00 a.m. Usually over by 2:00 p.m. Lunch will be served ($5.00 each) and there is usually a 50/50 drawing. Hope to see you there.
